Welcome to our page covering information on the best Disney resort in the world, the Tokyo Disney Resort, located just outside of Tokyo, Japan. With an opening date of April 1983 under the leadership of The Oriental Land Company, Tokyo Disneyland became the first Disney theme park built outside of the United States.

The Tokyo Disney Resort is the only Disney resort not owned or operated by The Walt Disney Company. Owned and operated by The Oriental Land Company through a license with The Walt Disney Company, the resort currently hosts two theme parks: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.

With four Disney hotels, six non-Disney hotels and a shopping district, the resort is located east of Tokyo in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan. Covering a sizable footprint, the resort is absolutely beautiful and features the best Disney theme park ever constructed, Tokyo DisneySea. Themed as a nautical equivalent to Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea is a monumental success of Disney Imagineering.

Tokyo DisneySea does not feature lands, but ports-of-call. Each port-of-call features an exotic location with highly detailed attractions. From visiting the center of the Earth to escaping a temple in the jungle with Indiana Jones, Tokyo DisneySea has it all. The park instantly brings you from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo to a world of adventure.

Tokyo Disneyland, the resort’s first theme park, brings the best of Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and Anaheim’s Disneyland together. The Oriental Land Company famously sent out its executives to research the two US parks for the best attractions and experiences to bring back to Tokyo. Echoing the Imperial Japanese government during the Meiji Restoration with its quest for greatness, The Oriental Land Company found the best and created an outstanding park.

Tokyo Disneyland features the best copies of the classic Disney attractions from the US parks. The park also features two awesome exclusives, Pooh’s Hunny Hunt and Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek! The park will soon feature a themed area to Beauty and the Beast, with a blockbuster E-Ticket attraction. Set to open Spring 2020, hopefully COVID-19 has not stopped the opening of this upcoming themed land.

Outside the parks, the resort hosts some of Disney’s most luxurious hotels. In front of the gates of Tokyo Disneyland stands the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel. Like its sister resorts Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel is a luxury Victorian hotel. With stunning views of the park mixed with classic Disney, the hotel is an experience of its own.

But nothing can touch the elegance and beauty of the Hotel MiraCosta. Built inside Tokyo DisneySea, the Hotel MiraCosta is a much of the park experience as it is a hotel. Imagine if Main Street, USA was a hotel. The Hotel MiraCosta builds the entrance of Tokyo DisneySea. From its familiar setting in the Mediterranean Harbor, we the guests depart its charming shores for adventure on the high seas, just like the famed Italian explorers of old.

We first visited the resort in 2017 and fell in love. The theme parks are in a league of their own, especially Tokyo DisneySea. Disney Imagineers were given a blank cheque for Tokyo DisneySea with no budget constrains commonly found in the US parks, and it shows. Top it off with Japan’s culture of exceptional customer service and dedication, the resort is by far the best organized and operated.
