The Tokyo Disney Resort consists of four official Disney hotels. When we say “official Disney hotels”, we mean hotels owned and operated by Disney (and in this case The Oriental Land Company, the actual owners of the Tokyo Disney Resort). Similar to Walt Disney World, the four hotels are categorized by price, location and hotel amenities. Below is the list of Tokyo Disney Resort’s four official hotels:
Value:
- Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel
Deluxe:
- Disney Ambassador Hotel
- Tokyo Disneyland Hotel
- Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta
Introduction
This guide will breakdown each hotel, its rooms and amenities. Be warned, whereas most of Tokyo Disney is affordable from dining to park tickets, the hotels are very expensive. The cheapest rooms on property start at $215/night and up to $500/night for the cheapest rooms at Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta. Rooms with grand views and suites can go for well over $1000/night. And not only are the hotels expensive, the operate at 99% occupancy, killing any chance for a discount.
The resort does include an area of non-official Disney hotels, similar to the hotels located at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World. We will not be covering those hotels in this guide and will instead cover those hotels at a later date.
In terms of amenities, every guest staying at the four official hotels are eligible for Happy 15 Entry. The perk allows guests to enter the parks (Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea) 15 minutes before opening and ride one designated attraction at each park (usually the newest and/or most popular) or grab a Fast Pass. Depending on the hotel, you can utilize this perk on day of check in or starting the second day. For Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel guests, Happy 15 can only be used at Tokyo Disneyland.
Hotel guests are also guaranteed park admission even on high attendance days. Hotel guests can also purchase a special ticket that allows for park hopping on their first day. Normally, park hopping is not allowed until the third day of a four day passport. Reservations for each hotel can be made 5 months in advance or 6 months in advance for vacation packages. Reservations can be made online or over the phone.
Additionally, we will breakdown the hotels before the onset of COVID-19. The Tokyo Disney Resort and its four hotels are still closed and any measures Tokyo Disney will take to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is unknown at this time. Once it becomes known which prevention techniques the hotels and the Tokyo Disney Resort as a whole decide to implement, we will go ahead and update this guide. As a reminder, the Tokyo Disney Resort will reopen July 1, 2020.
Alas, let’s breakdown the beautiful and wonderfully designed Tokyo Disney hotels!

The flagship hotel of the Tokyo Disney Resort, I would argue this is the flagship hotel of all of Disney’s hotels. Located within Tokyo DisneySea, Hotel MiraCosta (MiraCosta is Italian for “view of the coast”) is the only Disney hotel located entirely within a theme park. In fact, the hotel is a major part of the park and its theme. Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta is hands down the most extravagantly themed and most luxurious hotel ever created by Disney.
As the picture above showcases, guests have spectacular views of the Mediterranean Harbor and Mysterious Island port-of-calls in Tokyo DisneySea. Rooms contain an Italian theme with some rooms featuring Disney character constellations on the ceilings and murals of DisneySea’s Mediterranean Harbor on the walls. Entrance into Tokyo DisneySea takes seconds as the hotel has its own private entrance into the park. If you’ve ever wanted to spend the night in a Disney park, Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta is your best bet. No hotel in the world can top its location, luxury and experience.
Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta: Rooms
Rooms at Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta are listed by their location within the hotel: Tuscany Side, Venice Side and Porto Paradiso Side. Conclusion
Despite only four “official” Disney hotels, the Tokyo Disney Resort offers a ton variety over its four properties. If you desire more time in the parks, Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel is your best bet. If you desire upmost luxury and a hotel stay you will never forget, the obvious choice is Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta.
Wherever you choose to stay, you will encounter some of the best, if not the best, hospitality in the world. Japanese culture takes pride in every occupation, especially customer service. As soon as you walk through the hotel doors, you will be treated respectfully and as an honored guest. Whereas the Disney hotel castmembers in the US tend to be below par, the Tokyo Disney Resort castmembers are the best in the world. Nothing can top their customer service. The high price of the hotels is almost worth it for the outstanding castmembers.
Outside the amazing castmembers, the hotels are fantastic in their design, especially the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel and of course, Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta. Unlike the Grand Floridan or the Grand Californian, the top two hotels in Japan feel like and are luxury hotels. Again, Japan takes great pride in their work and it shows. I balk at paying over $500/night at the Grand Californian, but I will pay $800/night with ease at Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta. A hotel inside the most detailed and unique park every conceived by man – take my money please. And it screams luxury. What else could be better?
However, be warned. The amazing hotels are notoriously difficult to book, especially Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta. Hotels can be booked 5 months before your desired trip at 9AM Tokyo time. DO NOT forget this booking window. If you fail to book at this time, most of the rooms will be gone. Trust me, hotel rooms at Tokyo Disney sell out faster than hotcakes. If you purchase a crazy expensive vacation package, you can book six months in advance. Either way, it’s a difficult task. And the resort will only take MasterCard to book the rooms, not Visa (although Visa can be used in the parks). If the website fails, you can call, but that’s not any easier.
If you do score a room, you will be in for a treat. I would argue most of the rooms are worth the price, especially any room on the Port Paradiso Side at Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta. What could be better than waking up to the Mediterranean Harbor background music as you watch the sun rise over Mt. Prometheus. I could spend all day watching that view as the park wakes up, transitions into shows and ends with the stunning lights around the volcano. Tokyo Disney Resort, it’s time for another trip.
