Although we love Disney, there are other theme parks for us to visit. We decided to include this page to showcase our experiences at other theme parks from around the world.
First up are the two Universal resorts in the United States, the Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. We didn’t used to be big fans of these two resorts but due to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, each resort is outstanding and worth a visit.
Universal Studios Hollywood is only 45 minutes from our home and we plan to become annual passholders once operations return to normal to provide better coverage of the theme park. Annual passes are cheap and we could easily add visiting this park to our weekly theme park experiences.
Universal Orlando in Florida is a beast like Walt Disney World. With two theme parks, one water park, eight resort hotels and a third theme park on the way, the resort is Walt Disney World’s closest rival. We finally visited in 2019 and instantly fell in love. Universal Orlando is an outstanding resort. With two sections included in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it is an absolute must for any Harry Potter Fan.
While things begin to return to normal following COVID-19, we plan to increase our visits to Universal Orlando and add it to our yearly pilgrimage to Walt Disney World. There is so much to do and see at Universal Orlando and we only scratched the surface during our last visit.
